  • Our goal is to send one coach for every ten athletes on the team at the WUKF Championships. For the ISF Gymnasiade we will be able to bring up to five coaches. To be part of the coaching pool, you must participate in on of the team trials/ team trainings. Part of your evaluation process will be for you to officiate at the Ozawa Cup.

  • I am interested in officiating at either the WUKF World Championship and/or the ISF U15 Gymnasiade. Part of your evaluation will be based on you officiating at the Ozawa Cup.

For Insurance purposes, you must have a current AAU Membership to participate in this event.

*** If selected to be a part of an AAU Team, it is your responsibility to have a current passport.

I understand that through this Team Tryout Process I have the opportunity to qualify for membership on the AAU/USA National Karate Team. I also understand that to make the Team and represent the AAU/USA National Karate Program is an honor and a privilege and not a benefit.

Should I be fortunate enough to make the Team I acknowledge and agree:

    1. As a Team Member, I will be training, traveling, and competing under the direction of the National AAU Karate Program and that while participating as a Team Member I shall be under the direction of those chosen by the Program to train and coach me.
    2. As a Team Member I shall adhere to any and all rules governing the National Team as established by the National Sport Chair and Coaching Staff, unwritten as well as written (i.e. an announced curfew time while traveling).
    3. As a Team Member I represent the AAU/USA National Karate Program. That any actions (or inaction) on my part, both during competition (AAU and non-AAU licensed) or in my daily life that may bring disrepute to the AAU will be grounds for my immediate and permanent discharge from the Team and possibly any and all other AAU activities in the future.
    4. I also understand that as a National Team Member I may be (and in all likelihood will be) competing in non-AAU Licensed events, which are NOT covered by AAU insurance and agree to do so at my own risk.
    5. As a Team Member, I understand that once a commitment has been made on my part to participate in any scheduled activity of the team I shall be financially responsible for any and all costs associated with that commitment should I later choose not to attend.
    6. As a Team Member I have a responsibility to perform at my very best. If unable to do so, for whatever reason, I agree to notify the National Head Coach and National coaching staff, prior to any planned travel. However, once I agree to participate in any Team sponsored event I shall do so through the Gold Medal Round. Failure to do so will result in my being permanently dropped from the team and I will reimburse AAU/USA Karate for the cost of my trip.
    7. As a Team Member I will be required to wear Team Sponsored uniforms, warm-ups, and gear at all Team functions.
    8. In the event that a Team Member is unable to perform his/her duties as a Team member, for any reason, the AAU/USA Karate National Program reserves the right to replace him/her with the 2nd Place finisher from Team Tryouts. However, there is no obligation whatsoever on AAU/USA Karate’s part to do so.
    9. The AAU Karate National Program has a ZERO TOLERANCE LEVEL POLICY FOR ANY AND ALL ALCOHOL AND DRUGS WHILE TRAVELING AS A TEAM MEMBER REGARDLESS OF AGE! If you do not feel comfortable with this, please do not participate in Team Trials or travel with the AAU as a Team Member. Any athlete who violates this policy will be immediately suspended from the team, billed for all expenses associated with this travel, and be suspended from any and all AAU licensed competition for a period of at least one year!
    10. Team Training is limited and critical to my success. I understand that I am required to participate in any and all Team Training sessions and that some of the expense associated with such training is my responsibility. I am fully responsible for attending the ENTIRE Team training sessions. I may not arrive late nor leave early for any reason whatsoever. Failure to attend Team Training or late arrival/early departure WILL result in my being dropped from the Team.
    11. With respect to housing during team activities; I fully understand and accept that I will be assigned a room and roommate by AAU/USA Karate National Program. I understand that there may be a curfew during my stay which may include bed checks as well. I also understand that I may not leave my room for any reason after curfew and that no one other than myself and my assigned roommate (if any) may enter that room. Failure to abide by these rules will automatically lead to my termination as a Team Member.
    12. I agree to save and hold harmless Management, Sponsors, and their officers, agents, members and employees of Summer High School Games Team Trials and their officers, agents, members and employees from any and all liability resulting from injuries to any person or damages to or loss of property owned or controlled by me. I fully understand and shall adhere to all rules and regulations. I release all photo and video rights that may be used for publicity, promotion and/or media release without any form of compensation.
